Compass Points Training

Finding Your True North: Understanding Team Dynamics with Compass Points

Every communicator brings a unique set of strengths to the table—but navigating group projects, tight deadlines, and diverse personalities can make collaboration a challenge. In this interactive session, participants will explore Compass Points, a powerful and practical tool designed to help teams better understand working styles and improve collaboration.

By identifying whether you naturally lean North (action-oriented), South (people-centered), East (big-picture thinker), or West (detail-focused), you’ll gain insight into your own style—and those of your colleagues. Through guided reflection, team discussion, and application to real-world communications work, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for how communication teams can operate more efficiently, empathetically, and effectively.

Legislative Updates and What They Mean for School Communicators

Join representatives from the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) for an overview of the most significant legislative changes impacting public education this year. During the presentation, participants will break into table groups to discuss how these issues apply locally, explore strategies for communicating complex topics with stakeholders, and share ideas and resources with colleagues from across the state.

Whether you’re navigating new reporting requirements, addressing community questions, or planning proactive messaging, this action lab will help you feel more informed and better prepared to lead important conversations in your district.
